No. Candids is entirely web-based — guests just open your event link or scan the QR code in any browser and start uploading straight away. No downloads, no sign-ups, no friction.
When you create an occasion, Candids generates a unique link and a QR code. Share the link in a group chat, or display the QR code on a sign or slide at the venue. Anyone with the link can view and upload photos. You control whether the gallery is open or invite-only.
On the Free plan, guests can upload for 1 month from the date of the first upload. On the Pro plan this extends to 6 months — useful for occasions where guests trickle in their photos over time.
Free plan galleries are stored for 2 months from the occasion date. Pro plan galleries are stored for 1 year. We always recommend exporting or syncing to Google Photos before your storage window expires.
Candids can automatically sync all uploaded photos directly to a Google Photos album as they come in. Pro users can also export the full gallery as a collection. Connect your Google account in your occasion settings to get started.
There's no cap on the number of contributors to an occasion. Whether you have 10 guests or 500, everyone can upload using the same link or QR code.
Yes. On the Free plan you can set a custom colour for the guest experience — your occasion will feel on-brand even with Candids attribution on the page. Pro users get full control: upload your own logo and images, choose your own colour palette, and remove all Candids branding entirely.
All galleries are private by default. Only people with your occasion link can view or contribute. We never share your photos publicly or use them for any purpose other than serving them back to you and your guests. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
